ART...

Imagined and designed by Prachurya Baruah, Artist and Architect, integrating mythology, symbolism, and contemporary urban design to create a public space that is both functional and culturally resonant. Concept Note: Police Outpost Inspired by Gajendra Moksha This police outpost design draws inspiration from the ancient spiritual narrative of Gajendra Moksha, symbolising the eternal triumph of justice over evil. The story tells of Gajendra, the elephant king, who is attacked by a crocodile while bathing in a lake. In his moment of distress, Gajendra prays to the Supreme Lord, who immediately responds by releasing the Sudarshan Chakra, severing the crocodile and freeing him from danger. This architectural concept translates that powerful symbolism into a contemporary civic structure that reflects the role of policing in society. In this design: The Crocodile represents criminal elements and antisocial forces within society. The White Gajendra (Elephant Form) symbolizes innocent citizens, victims, and the general public who seek protection. The Ashoka Chakra placed above represents the Sudarshan Chakra, symbolizing the wheel of law, justice, and constitutional authority that empowers policing and governance. The architectural composition visually narrates this symbolic moment of justice. The entrance to the outpost is positioned between the severed neck of the crocodile, dividing its head and body. This powerful gesture signifies that every police officer entering or exiting the station symbolically cuts through the forces of evil in society, reinforcing the idea that law enforcement stands as the barrier between crime and public safety.
